Who we are
WikiSchools is operated by Vixoria Technologies, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. For anything in this policy, contact us at vijit.panwar44@gmail.com.
Where our school information comes from
School records are published by UDISE+ — Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India — and used under the Open Data Commons Attribution Licence (ODC-BY). We do not collect this information from schools ourselves.
The rankings, ratios and comparisons on each page are calculated by us from that published data. They are not part of the official record.
Personal information on school pages
School pages describe institutions, not individuals. They show things like enrolment numbers, teacher counts, classrooms and location. We do not publish information about pupils.
Where any personal information does appear, it comes from the public government record. If you believe personal information about you is shown and should not be, tell us and we will review it within 90 days.
Information you give us
When you send a correction or contact us, we store:
- what you told us, and which page it concerns
- your name and email, if you chose to give them
- the date you contacted us
We use this only to investigate and reply. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing. Reports are kept while we work on them and for a reasonable period afterwards so we have a record of what was changed and why.
To prevent automated form abuse, the application temporarily uses a one-way identifier made from connection information. The raw network address is not stored with your correction, review, school-details submission or profile claim. Our hosting provider may also keep short-lived security and access logs.
Reviews you write
If you submit a review of a school, we store the rating, headline and text you wrote, the relationship to the school you selected, the display name and email address you chose to give, the school it concerns, and the date. We also store a one-way identifier derived from connection information, so that abuse can be traced without keeping your network address.
Nothing you write appears on the site automatically. Every review is read by a person first, and is published only if it is approved. We publish or reject a review as written — we do not edit it. A review that names individuals, makes claims we cannot verify, or reads as promotional will be rejected.
If we publish your review, the rating, headline, text, self-declared relationship, display name and month are public. Your email address is never shown and is used only to contact you about the review, including to confirm a removal request.
Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them. Relationships to the school are self-declared and are not verified by us. A review is not a WikiSchools finding and plays no part in how a school page is compiled.
School contact details and fees
Contact details and fees are not part of the official UDISE+ record. Where they appear on a school page, they came either from an official directory published by a body such as a school board, or from someone at the school who sent them to us. Each value is shown with its source and the date it was reported, and we do not estimate, infer or guess a fee we have not been given.
We publish institutional contacts only — a school office number, a school email address, a school website. We do not publish personal contact details for principals, teachers or other named individuals.
If you send us details on behalf of a school, we store your name, role, email and any phone number you give so we can verify the information before publishing it. Those details about you are never published.
A school can ask us to remove its contact details or fees at any time, and we do not require a reason. Email vijit.panwar44@gmail.com or use the correction form. Once withdrawn, the details stay withdrawn: a later import from an official directory will not put them back.
Removing a review
You can ask us to remove a review you wrote at any time, and you do not have to give a reason. Email vijit.panwar44@gmail.com from the address you submitted with, or use the correction form and choose “Remove personal information about me”.
A school, or anyone named in a review, can also report it. Tell us which review and why. If content is unlawful, identifies an individual, or we cannot stand behind it, we take it down while we look into it rather than after. We keep a record that a review was removed and why, so takedowns are auditable — but the text stops being public immediately. We respond within 90 days.
School profile claims
During the school-claim pilot, an authorised representative can ask us to verify their connection to a school. We store the representative’s name, role, work email, optional office phone and website, chosen verification method, evidence link and notes, consent record, the school concerned, and the decision history. Claim details are not published.
We use this information only to verify and administer the claim, prevent fraud, handle disputes and keep an audit record. Approval confirms the representative’s connection; it does not grant direct editing access or influence rankings or reviews. Claims expire after one year. Closed claim records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for audit, dispute and legal purposes.
Admission enquiries
A parent or guardian can send an admission enquiry only from a school profile included in the verified pilot. We collect the parent or guardian name, at least one contact method (phone or email), the class sought, the named school, and a record of consent. The form does not ask for a child’s name, date of birth, identity document, marks, medical information or other sensitive details.
WikiSchools reviews the enquiry before sharing it with the named school. We use the information only to administer that enquiry, prevent abuse, answer requests and measure the pilot in aggregate. Enquiries have a 180-day deletion deadline. A parent or guardian can ask us to withdraw or erase an enquiry by emailing vijit.panwar44@gmail.com and quoting the reference shown after submission.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate visits, page navigation and real-world loading performance. The reports help us identify useful school and city pages and find performance problems. We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
We also keep daily totals of actions on each school profile, such as opening nearby schools, rankings, directions, institutional contact links, reviews and anonymous interest in admissions. These totals contain the school, action type, date and—only for a nearby-school click—the destination school. They do not contain an IP address, browser identifier or per-visitor history.
Google Search Console separately provides aggregate search information such as impressions, clicks and indexing status. WikiSchools does not use advertising trackers and does not combine these reports into profiles of individual visitors.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data of yours we hold
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- erase personal data where we no longer need it
- escalate a complaint if you are unhappy with our answer
Email vijit.panwar44@gmail.com or use the correction form. We respond within 90 days.
Children
WikiSchools is meant for parents, researchers and school staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not publish information about individual pupils.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
